Matampay Farmers Association is registered with DOLE dedicated to help and create new economic opportunities to improve rural livelihood of
\nKadingilan farmers by establishing a drying facility. Presently, farmers utilize recycled trapal (tarpaulins) as flat solar dryer beds for their harvested crops such as corn and coffee. In the absence of linkages to the market and the prevailing high cost of transportation, farmers dispose their produce to middlemen at low price.<\/p>\n
This proposal was made due to identified need of the local farmers to improve the production of corn in the area and improved quality. The construction of solar dryer will increase the quality of the produced and maximise profit and viability of the AAAD subproject the Corn Production Processing and Marketing.<\/p>\n
