The settlement is predominantly an agricultural economy that possesses significant natural endowments such as fertile soil, water resources, climate and others but remains an impoverished area due to various constraints. Its potentials for development have not been realized and as a result, the population is largely in state of poverty.<\/p>\n
Local produce are also largely locally traded in their raw form due to difficulties and high cost of transport owing to decrepit road condition, wherever and whenever it exists. There is only few known value adding processes within the settlement such as rice milling. Local traders are the major lending entities in the settlement. With high interest rates, debts which are paid in kind at low prices, incomes are low and farmers are in endless cycle of borrowing for their future farm operations and household needs to be paid back with future produce.<\/p>\n
With the provision of warehouse building and solar dryer, the organization\u2019s productivity will increase so as the marketability. This will also serve as storage for the Cooperative\u2019s products for safe keeping.<\/p>\n
The proposed subproject Construction of Warhouse and Solar Dryer for Rice Production is to be source out in the Infra Loan Proceeds, the technical detailed designs and program of works are carried out by the Infra Component.
