Makilala is a 1st‑class landlocked municipality in the province of Cotabato (SOCCSKSARGEN Region), Philippines, established on September 8, 1954 .

Population: 87,927 (2020 census); density ~256 people/km²
Barangays: 38, including New Israel, Batasan, Buhay, Malasila, Poblacion
Elevation: 136 m to 631 m, situated at the foothills of Mount Apo
