Palimbang

Description

Palimbang is a coastal municipality in the province of Sultan Kudarat, located in the SOCCSKSARGEN (Region XII) of Mindanao, Philippines. Established on August 14, 1959, it was created through Executive Order No. 350 by President Carlos P. Garcia. On November 22, 1973, Palimbang was transferred from Cotabato Province to Sultan Kudarat through Presidential Decree No. 341 by President Ferdinand E. Marcos.

Geography & Demographics:
Area: Approximately 484.85 km², accounting for about 9.04% of Sultan Kudarat’s total area .
Population: As of the 2020 census, Palimbang has a population of 92,828 .
Barangays: The municipality is subdivided into 40 barangays.

Agriculture: The economy is primarily based on agriculture, with major products including rice, corn, fish, coconut, vegetables, poultry, and handicrafts.
